Objective

The West Bengal Government launched the "Lakshmir Bhandar" Scheme on 1st July 2021. In this scheme the Government of West Bengal provides the female heads of families of the State an assured monthly income to imporve their financial condition and promote women empowerment.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. "Lakshmir Bhandar" assures an income for women in all the rural and urban households in the State, which are enrolled under "Swasthyasathi".
  2. A household in this scheme means a household that is enrolled under “Swathyasathi" and is also eligible as per eligibility criteria of this scheme.
  3. In every such household, ALL female members will get the benefit, if
    1. She is a resident of the State.
    2. She is aged between 25 - 60 years.
    3. She is not a government employee in permanent employment / retired government employee of Central / State Government, Statutory Bodies, Government Undertakings, Panchayats, Municipal Corporation / Municipalities, Local Bodies, teaching and non-teaching employees of Government aided Educational Instituions etc. receiving regular salary / pension.

Benefits & Features

  1. Financial assistance under the scheme will be credited by direct bank transfer to an Aadhaar linked bank account held solely by the eligible adult female member/s of the houlehold.
  2. The scale of the financial benefit to be provied to eligible women is as follows:
    1. Women from SC / ST households: ₹1000/- per month.
    2. Women from households other than SC / ST households: ₹500/- per month.

Method of Applying

  1. The scheme's Application Form will be available free-of-cost at Duare Sarkar Camps.
  2. All eligible applicants of a Swasthyasathi Household will submit the filled in, duly signed application form at the above mentioned Camps.
  3. Self-attested copies of the following documents must be submitted along with the application form:
    1. Swasthyasathi Card.
    2. Aadhar Card.
    3. SC / ST Certificate, if applicable.
    4. Bank Account: Self-attested photo-copy of the page of bank pass-book which provided details of the account holder's name, account no., bank address, IFS Code and MICR No. The bank account should be single bank account in name of the eligible adult female member only.
    5. Coloured passport size photograph of the applicant.
    6. Self-declaration duly signed by the applicant to the effect:
      1. That she is a resident of West Bengal
      2. That she does not earn any monthly remuneration / pension from any regular job of State Govt., Statutory Bodies, Govt. Undertakings, Panchayats, Municipal Corporation / Municipalities, Local Bodies, Govt. aided Educational Instituion etc.
      3. Information furnished by her in the application form are true.
  4. In case the applicant does not have Swasthyasathi / AADHAR Card, she will be first provisionally registered under "Lakshmir Bhandar" and will be faciliated to get the Swasthyasathi Card and/or AADHAR Card and will be subsequently enrolled in "Lakshmir Bhandar" Scheme.

Verification of the Application

  1. The applications so received at the Duare Sarkar camps will be duly enquired into as per Duare Sarkar modalities by Govt. officials only authorized for the purpose.
  2. After verification / enquiry the Block Development Officer in the rural area or the Sub Divisional Officer in the urban area, as the case may be, shall enter the applications on the Portal, verify and recommended the list of eligible applications to the District Magistrate for sanction.
  3. In case of the areas falling within the jurisdiction of Kolkata Municipal Corporation, the same process will be completed by the Commissioner, Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

Sanction Procedure

  1. The Commissioner, Kolkata Municipal Corporation shall be the sanctioning authority for applicants residing in areas under the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
  2. In all other cases, the District Magistrate will be sanctioning authority.

Yearly Verification of the Life Status of the benificiary

Once a year, Life status of the benificiary will be obtained from the Registrar of Birth and Death through online system.

To check the Lakshmir Bhandar Online Application form status, follow the step by step procedure:

  1. Go to the official website link https://www.socialsecurity.wb.gov.in/login.
  2. Now, on the homepage, enter your Registered Mobile Number.
  3. After that, Click on "Generate OTP".
  4. Enter your Mobile Number.
  5. Now, click on the "Send OTP" option. If you have your OTP then, click on "Already Have OTP".
  6. Then, you can check the application form status and the payment status of the application form.
