The Backward Classes Welfare Department, a Department under the Govt. of West Bengal is working towards sustainable development of the persons belonging to the Schedules Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes of West Bengal. 1 Distribution of SC, ST & OBC Certificate

(1) The applicant must be a citizen of India.

(2) He has to be permanent resident of West Bengal since 10/08/1950 in case of Scheduled Caste, since 06/09/1950 in case of Scheduled Tribe and since 15/03/1993 in case of Other Backward Classes.

(3) He is an ordinary resident at the address currently residing.

(4) He belongs to the said caste / tribe he claims to belong to.

(5) Proof of Identity.

(6) That the applicant does not fall under "creamy layer" in case of other Backward Classes.

SC / ST / OBC Caste Certificate issued by the concerned SDO of a Sub-Division.

2 Old Age Pension of Tribal People

(1) Tribal people whose age is above 60 years.

(2) Their name has to be enlisted on SECC Report.

(3) One Savings Account in any Nationalised Bank in the name of applicant.

3 Sikhashree

(1) SC & St student from IX to X having annual family income is within ₹2.00 Lakh.

(2) One Savings Account in any Nationalised Bank in the name of applicant.

 The class-wise scholarship amount provided to ST/SC students are:

(1) Class 5: ₹500/- per year.

(2) Class 6: ₹650/- per year.

(3) Class 7: ₹700/- per year.

(4) Class 8: ₹800/- per year.

4 Scholarship to Pre-Matric SC / ST Student

(1) SC / ST student from IX to X having annual family income is within ₹2.00 Lakh.

(2) One Savings Account in any Nationalised Bank in the name of applicant.

(3) Caste Certificate / Acknowledgement slip is mandatory.

(1) Hosteller student will get ₹11,000/- per year.

(2) Non-Hosteller student will get ₹2,250/- per year.

5 Scholarship to Post-Matric SC / ST Student

(1) SC / ST student from XI to upto graduation / post graduation level having annual family income is within ₹2.5 Lakh.

(2) One Savings Account in any Nationalised Bank in the name of applicant.

(3) Caste Certificate / Acknowledgement slip is mandatory.

(1) Hosteller student will get ₹14,000/- per year.

(2) Non-Hosteller student will get ₹2,760/- to ₹8,700/- per year.

7 Scholarship to Post-Matric OBC Student

(1) OBC (A & B) student from XI to upto graduation / post graduation level having annual family income is within ₹1 Lakh.

(2) One Savings Account in any Nationalised Bank in the name of applicant.

(3) Caste Certificate / Acknowledgement slip is mandatory.

(1) Hosteller student will get ₹7,500/- per year.

(2) Non-Hosteller student will get ₹1,600/- to ₹5,040/- per year.

8 Special Stipend to Meritorious Female student

(1) Meritorious SC and ST student from V to X who has secured minimum 60% marks and having annual family income is within ₹60,000/-.

(2) One Savings Account in any Nationalised Bank in the name of applicant.

(1) Special Stipend amount is ₹1,200/- (for student V - VI).

(2) Special Stipend amount is ₹1,500/- (for student VII - VIII).

(3) Special Stipend amount is ₹1,800/- (for student IX - X).

 Applications to be submitted by the schools and shortlisted at the District Office.
9 Special Stipend to Meritorious student

(1) Meritorious SC and ST student from IX to XII who has secured minimum 60% marks and having annual family income is within ₹36,000/-.

(2) One Savings Account in any Nationalised Bank in the name of applicant.

 Special Stipend amount is ₹4,800/- (for student IX - XII). Applications to be submitted by the schools and shortlisted at the District Office.
10 Grant for School attached Hostel

(1) SC & ST student from V to VIII having annual family income is within ₹36,000/-.

(2) One Savings Account in any Nationalised Bank in the name of applicant.

 Hostel grant is ₹10,000/- per year. Through School Level.
11 Grant for Ashram Hostel

(1) SC & ST student from V to VIII having annual family income is within ₹36,000/-.

(2) One Savings Account in any Nationalised Bank in the name of applicant.

 Hostel grant is ₹12,000/- per year. Through School Level.
12 Inter Caste Marriage

(1) The Marriage should be occurred between SC and General Caste.

(2) The SC candidate should have SC Certificate and Marriage Certificate.

(3) They must have a joint account in a Nationalised Bank.

13 Eklavya Model Residential School

(1) Only ST student from class VI to XII are allowed for admission.

(2) They are selected through Entrance Examination.

(3) It is a residential type school.

Government bears all the expenditure for their education and living at the Residential School. Application Forms are given by the school and shortlisted by the school.
