The main aim of the Department is to improve the quality of life of these socially and economically backward classes and enhancement of capability of the people belonging to these communittees, so that they can be very much part & parcel of the mainstream of the Society.

card_membershipThe Health & Family Welfare Department of the State Government has been vested with the responsibility of maintaining and developing the health care system in West Bengal. Public health, sanitation and hospitals are the exclusive responsibilities of the State. State provides financial and managerial support for the basic health care support and infrastructural facilities at the rural level, while the State level super specialty Medical Colleges & Hospitals predominantly provides the ambulatory care services. About 80% of the Government health care services to the citizens are being provided free of cost.

Bangla Sahayta Kendra
handshakeThe State Govt. has set up 3561 no. of Bangla Sahayata Kendras (BSKs) across the State ‘to provide government services free of cost at the grassroot level through online mode’ and also to strengthen the existing system of information dissemination about various social and development schemes. The BSKs are located in the offices of District Magistrates, Sub-Divisional Officers, Block Development Officers, Health Centres, Government Aided Libraries, Office of the SI of Schools and all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs). Presently, 268 public services (195 transaction services & 73 information services) of 38 Departments exist in BSK’s service basket. The Personnel & Administrative Reforms and e-Governance Department of the Government of West Bengal is the Nodal Department coordinating BSK project. There is a Project Management Unit (PMU) at the State level looking after day-to-day functioning of BSKs. All the notified services of BSKs are provided through its online portal https://bsk.wb.gov.in The services provided through BSKs are completely free of cost. The citizen does not have to pay any service charge to get the service.

Duare Sarkar
help_centerStarted on 1st December, 2020 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Duare Sarkar is an initiative of the Government of West Bengal, for delivery of services and welfare schemes at the doorsteps of the people through outreach camps. These camps are organized at the level of gram panchayat and municipal ward level. These camps act as service providers of specific services and nodes for issuance and collection of applications for welfare schemes. Paray Samadhan – a community component of the Duare Sarkar campaign – conceptualized to respond to the numerous petitions and applications received from citizens seeking solutions to small local problems due to gaps in infrastructure, supply and services and manpower in public institutions. Through Paray Samadhan, the Government seeks to address neighborhood needs through small interventions and community participation, aiming to solve community level issues locally.
